Canon announces two new 2/3 type 4K broadcast zoom lenses

Canon has announced the snappily-monikered CJ18ex28B and CJ15ex8.5B 4K broadcast zoom lenses for 2/3″ UHD cameras. They’re designed to be instantly familiar to anyone who’s shot with a 2/3″ HD lens and to offer a lot of flexibility on location.

NAB 2019: Sony Evolves FS7 and FS7 II Camcorders for News Production with ENG-Style Build-up Kit

Sony’s PXW-FS7 and PXW-FS7 II XDCAM camcorders are now further optimized for newsgathering, thanks to a new ENG-style build-up kit and a new B4 lens to E-mount adapter. The build-up kit, CBK-FS7BK, enables extended shoulder-mount use, suiting the camcorders news production, interviews, documentaries, and reality-television shooting. Combined with the new lens-mount adapter, LA-EB1, both E-mount and B4 lens assets can be used on either the FS7 or FS7 II, allowing users to capture images with deep and shallow depth of field (DoF) — all with a single camera.

NAB 2019: Canon unveiled Sumire Primes

The Canon Sumire Prime Series, are a range of seven fast T-stop cinema prime lenses, all with an interchangeable PL mount, which can be modified to an EF mount. It’s only taken eight years, but Canon finally decided to make prime cine lenses with a PL mount. When I asked Canon at NAB as to why it has taken so long, they couldn’t tell me.

Sony Unveils Latest 4K PTZ Camera Offering At NAB

Sony has unveiled its latest 4K pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera offering at the 2019 NAB Show. The IP-based BRC-X400 camera, the first in Sony's PTZ range to feature NDI|HX capability, is well-suited for a range of broadcast applications from studio to reality TV shows as well as for shooting within large venues or event halls.

     
     
 
Sony announces SxS Pro X Cards and Reader

Sony has just announced new SxS Pro X Cards and an SxS Pro X card reader at NAB 2019. SxS Pro X is the next step up from SxS Pro+ and it offers transfer speeds of up to 10Gbps (1250MB/s). This is significantly faster than the SxS Pro+’s 3.5 Gbps max read speed, and 2.8 Gbps max write speed. The claimed transfer and write speeds of the new SxS Pro X are also higher than those of the Sony AXS Memory A-Series Cards that are used in their AXS-R7 and AXS-R5 RAW recorders.
