ATEME, the emerging leader in video delivery solutions for broadcast, cable, DTH, IPTV and OTT, announced today that Telia Estonia, one of the largest telecommunication companies operating in the Baltics, has selected ATEME’s TITAN solution to compress and package its next generation OTT offering. The project aims to extend the reach of HD services throughout Estonia and introduces new packaging formats.

NHK relied on DVB-S2X modulation, in 16APSK, and HEVC encoding. The images (7680 pixels over 4320 lines - some 33.3 million pixels per image) were shot at 60 frames per second in BT2020 colour space, with 10 bits of colour depth (1 billion colours) and high dynamic range HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma), combined with 22.2 channel audio.

Lectrosonics announced a major firmware update for their acclaimed Duet digital wireless monitor IEM/IFB system, V2.0. The 2.0 Firmware update includes a host of new features and improvements that are the result of valuable customer input, including improved audio quality, shortcuts on the front panel to assist in quick setup, a volume lock and additional flexibility in setting the audio gain and limiter functions. With the new update, users can now do a front panel IR sync operation and similarly turn on or off the RF transmission without requiring access to the menus.

Austrian broadcast corporation ORF has selected Sony's XVS-7000 multi-format IP video switchers, from the XVS series, to modernise and future-proof its broadcasting station and better meet the sophisticated viewing habits of its audience. The first XVS-7000 will be used in ORF's IP OB van scheduled for delivery this year, whilst more than 20 live switchers are likely to be used in the media companies’ main production centre in Vienna and in all its regional studios.

AJA Video Systems released v1.1 firmware for its IPR-10G-HDMI Mini-Converter, which enables SMPTE ST 2110 IP video/audio to HDMI. Available as a free download, the update adds support for UltraHD up to 30p and integrates new improvements for discovery, registration and control.

Rohde & Schwarz has acquired Pixel Power Ltd., a technology leader in television branding, graphics, automation, master control and playout. With this acquisition, Rohde & Schwarz is executing its plan to expand further in broadcast playout while taking ownership of a company with significant technological leadership. The subsidiary will be renamed "Pixel Power Ltd. - A Rohde & Schwarz Company".

Nebras Films has chosen Leader LV7390 and LV7770 rasterizers for its new post-production studios in Riyadh. Devices will be used as master reference test instruments in the facility's colour grading, editing and compositing suites.
